Single-Ply Membranes

TPO

TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) membrane is a popular single-ply roofing material known for its durability, energy efficiency, and ease of installation. It is made from a single-ply material that is typically a blend of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene rubber. TPO membrane is heat-welded at the seams to create a seamless, watertight seal, providing excellent protection against leaks. It is also highly resistant to UV rays, chemicals, and punctures, making it a reliable choice for flat and low-slope roofs. Additionally, TPO membrane is known for its energy efficiency, as it reflects UV rays and reduces heat absorption, which can help lower cooling costs. Overall, TPO membrane is a versatile and cost-effective roofing solution for commercial and residential buildings. One of the advantages of this membrane is the rolls come in five meters by thirty meters long.

Types of TPO

  • Reinforced TPO Membrane: This type of TPO membrane includes a reinforcement layer, typically made of polyester or fiberglass, sandwiched between two layers of TPO material. The reinforcement layer provides added strength and dimensional stability to the membrane.

  • Fleece-Backed TPO Membrane: Fleece-backed TPO membranes have a layer of fleece material laminated to the underside of the membrane for improved puncture resistance and adhesion to the roof substrate, commonly used for overlaying existing membrane roofing.

  • Thick TPO Membrane: Thick TPO membranes are available in greater thicknesses than standard TPO membranes. These thicker membranes offer increased durability and may be used in applications where greater puncture resistance is required. This membrane often comes with longer warranties, ranging from 25 to 30 years.
